Design Like a Pro: Kitchen & Baths

Are you planning a kitchen and/or bathroom renovation? Do they need some improvements, but you don't know where to start? This is the class for you! In this class, interior designer Kira Eisenzopf will guide you through the process of designing and renovating your kitchen and bathroom. You will leave with all the tools you need, from planning and budgeting to cabinetry and finishes, to get the kitchen and bathroom of your dreams! Kira Eisenzopf has a B.A. in Architectural Studies from Mount Holyoke College and an A.S. in Interior Design from Hesser College. She currently runs her own business, providing interior design and home staging services to the greater Bangor area.

To enroll in enrichment classes, participants must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in school.

Gardening: Grow Your Own! Seed Starting

Third in the series beginning with “Gardening: It’s Seed Catalog Season!”& “Gardening: Understanding the Seed Packet”. This will be a hands on planting class, get ready to learn about your seeds, the planting, growing and other requirements for each to grow into a strong, healthy seedling which you should be able to transplant into your garden this season! We will learn about growing medium, germination, pots/trays, labeling, watering, light and heat requirements, scheduling and tracking of the growing process. Learn to make your own seed pots! Wear clothes you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Students will need gloves, seeds will be available but bring your own, too; as well as, containers to transport your newly planted seeds. This is a hands on class. Open to ALL skill levels. Additional Materials cost $5.00/student payable directly to the instructor at the beginning of class.

As seed catalogs roll into your mailboxes with the promise of spring and summer delights, decoding the symbols, making sense of descriptions (long day/short day/# days/heirloom/hybrid) can become quite a task. In this class, find out how to read, decode, understand the symbols and descriptions in a seed catalog and how to store your seeds until ready to use. Participants are encouraged to bring in their own catalogs and questions. Leave with a list of additional resources and materials. Open to ALL skill levels.

Follow-up to “Gardening: It’s Seed Catalog Season!”. You’re excited, your seeds arrived in the mail or you purchased them from the local store in March and can’t wait to sow. You will learn the basics to decode: seed packaged by date; the # days info; symbols; watering and depth information; heirloom/hybrid; light and soil requirements and, how to sow and store your seeds for an enjoyable gardening experience. Each participant will receive a seed packet, potted seed in recyclable pot (hands on activity), understanding of the packet instructions and skills for planting a variety of seeds. Participants also encouraged to bring in seed packets and questions. Open to ALL skill levels. Additional Materials cost $10.00/student payable directly to the instructor at the beginning of class. Materials cost will cover soil, seed packets for hands-on planting activity (which students will take away), handouts.

Are you planning to sell your home in the near future, but aren’t sure if your home is ready? Are you nervous about starting the process? During this 3 night class Kira Eisenzopf, local interior designer and home stager, will give you the tools you need to get your home ready to list and have the best chance at a quick, profitable sale. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from a local real estate professional and have all your questions answered.
