Learn how to get the most out of your Mac computer. This course will cover the basics of how to use Apple’s operating system, which works on Apple’s popular line of laptops and desktops. This class starts with the basic functions of the MacOS operating system and how to navigate through folders, files, and menus. Organizing, moving, and saving files will be covered too. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computer running MacOS, as only a limited number of computers are available to be provided for this class, taught by an instructor from the National Digital Equity Center. What a great way to work on your strength, balance, and flexibility without pain. The buoyancy of the water allows you to exercise and do motions that are hard to do on land while the resistance allows for a workout that is hard to replicate on land. Our pool is a saltwater system maintained at 92 degrees. Great for any level of fitness. Instructors: Dr. Emily Clark, DPT, and Dr. Emily Welch, DPT

Mindful Movement Yoga

This yoga class allows us to check in with our bodies and get moving in a way that can help us lower stress, release stagnant energy, and strengthen our mind-body connection. Andrea will bring the focus on strength, balance, flexibility, relaxation, meditation, techniques for stress management including better sleep. She will offer a variety of breathing techniques to calm and relax the body and clear the mind. All levels are welcome!

Ukulele for Beginners

Learn to play the ukulele! It has never been more popular and you don't even have to know how to read music! On the uke you can knock out folk music, rock, blues, jazz, pop, country, tunes old and new -- even classical music. Duncan Perry, who has taught more than 700 students of all ages, will introduce you to essential chords and playing techniques using commonly known songs. Oh, and there are lots of laughs along the way. And, learning to play an instrument is good for your brain! You will need a playable ukulele and an electronic tuner or a tuner app. And when folks hear you play this happy instrument, well, they just have to smile! If you don’t own a ukulele, please contact us for information. What are you waiting for? Grab a uke and get ready for a musical adventure, then spread the joy! Biography Duncan is an experienced multi-instrumentalist who has been performing and teaching folks how play the ukulele for the last 14 years. Having served as a volunteer music therapist in medical and hospice settings, he quickly came to understand that music is medicine and that learning to play an instrument not only sharpens the brain but helps reduce stress. It also brings joy to those who play the uke and to their audiences. Duncan has taught in a variety of Maine communities and did not let the COVID-19 epidemic stop him. He simply moved from teaching in person to an online format and now reaches students all over Maine, New Hampshire and beyond.

This hands-on workshop will set you up to get started with a free password manager program called Bitwarden, so you will never lose your passwords again! Walk through the steps to create an account, set your master password, and input your other passwords into the system.
