The Winning Approaches to Oil Painting

$89

with Michael Vermette

Calendar Sep 14, 2017 at 6 pm

This fun-filled oil painting class emphasizes technical and compositional methods for the beginner or experienced artist, at a pace that produces award-winning results. This seven-week course invites students to participate by attending four courses throughout the year that focus on three to four approaches per course that are most often used by famous artists presently and in art history. The instructor will demonstrate each week through in-class assignments that are meant to inspire, demystify and clarify painting processes. Artists will be encouraged to participate through in-class and out-of-class assignments that give opportunities to reinterpret what was learned and apply skills to personal painting ideas. Group critiques will also be featured each week to offer constructive suggestions and provide the artist with a supportive opportunity to develop their powers to represent their work. Participants may choose instructor resources or their own subjects from drawings, experiences from memory, photographs or from direct observation to develop their skills. The course gives technical insight through visual aid presentations of oil painting movements and artist trends that define modern oil painting today. This course will give the oil painter a solid base to build their own painting experiences upon. It is a series of courses that is for anyone who wishes to experience oil painting as a matter of restraint and play. Michael E.
