Are you struggling to make your drawings look more realistic and three-dimensional? This class is ideal for those who want to learn the basics of drawing and good composition. The emphasis in this class will be learning to draw through practice as an ongoing process. The former student will have the opportunity to develop more confidence by perfecting their current skill level, while the more experienced student will explore their personal style.

Students may elect to work in their choice of dry mediums such as graphite pencil, charcoal, or Conte crayon. With step-by-step instruction, students will learn how to transform flat, two-dimensional, basic shapes into three-dimensional forms. Students will learn to use a value scale to achieve dimensionality. Students will learn about design, textures, using a grid and good composition. Demonstrations, group class critiques as well as exercises in and out-of-class will re-enforce drawing techniques and skills. No prior drawing experience is necessary.
